Analysis of the Value of PVDF Materials

PVDF is a short term for polyvinylidene fluoride material, which appears as a semi transparent or white powder or particle with tightly arranged molecular chains and strong hydrogen bonds. PVDF applications are mainly concentrated in three major fields: petrochemicals, electronics and electrical, and fluorocarbon coatings.

PVDF, as a high-strength and corrosion-resistant material, is usually used to manufacture PVDF pipes for use as water pipes, etc. The PVDF membrane produced can bind proteins well and separate small fragments of proteins. Initially, it was used for protein sequencing because nitrocellulose membranes degrade in Edman reagents. Therefore, PVDF was sought as a substitute. Although the efficiency of PVDF membrane binding proteins is not as high as nitrocellulose membranes, its stability and corrosion resistance make it an ideal product for protein sequencing, and it has been used until now.

1. PVDF has poor hydrophilicity.

2. PVDF has excellent resistance to ultraviolet radiation and high-energy radiation.

3. PVDF has excellent chemical corrosion resistance, high temperature color change resistance, and oxidation resistance.

4. PVDF has excellent wear resistance, flexibility, high tensile strength, and impact resistance.

Due to its good chemical stability and electrical insulation performance, PVDF materials are not only made into PVDF tubes and other products, but also widely used in the storage and transportation of high-purity chemicals in the semiconductor industry. Porous membranes, gel, diaphragms, etc. made of PVDF resins are used in lithium secondary batteries. At present, this use has become one of the markets where the demand for PVDF is growing rapidly.
